The Recessed PIR Motion Sensor 360º with Timer is an advanced automation device for lighting systems, designed to detect human presence using passive infrared (PIR) technology. Its recessed format and discreet design make it an ideal solution for false ceilings in all types of indoor spaces where efficient and automatic lighting control is needed.
Technology and Operation
This sensor features a high-sensitivity PIR detector capable of identifying variations in infrared radiation caused by the movement of people or warm objects within its coverage area. It provides full 360º detection and has a maximum range of up to 8 meters, with a recommended installation height between 2.2 and 4 meters. It includes adjustable controls for delay time (from 10 seconds to 15 minutes) and ambient light sensitivity (from <3 lux to 2000 lux), allowing it to be configured for daytime, nighttime, or combined operation based on the environment’s requirements.
Installation and Compatibility
The sensor operates on a 220V AC power supply and supports loads of up to 300W for LED lighting. It has a very low standby power consumption (0.5W), contributing to overall energy savings. Installation is quick and secure thanks to integrated metal spring clips that ensure a firm fit in modular or plaster ceilings. Electrical connection is made via a clearly labeled terminal block to help prevent installation errors.
Additional Features
The sensor enables intelligent lighting management: when motion is detected within its range and ambient light conditions require it, the connected load is automatically switched on. If no further motion is detected within the set delay time, the light is switched off. The timer resets with each new detection, ensuring continuous lighting while people are present. Its advanced electronics minimize false triggers caused by external heat sources or unrelated movements outside the coverage area.
Professional Applications
Ideal for automating lighting in offices, corridors, stairways, entryways, restrooms, changing rooms, storage rooms, warehouses, parking garages, and intermittently used spaces where automatic switching offers both convenience and energy efficiency.
