About Natural Style

Which rooms to decorate with natural fibre lamps?

Decoration with natural fibre lamps has evolved over the years.

Some time ago, this type of material was practically exclusive for lighting outdoor areas such as terraces, gardens and porches, but little by little it has been gaining popularity among those who do not want to miss out on its warmth and freshness.

In addition to the innate lightness of these materials, there is a growing environmental awareness that is also reflected in the choice of luminaires in the home.

It is now common to find natural lamps that are the absolute protagonists in the lighting of living rooms, bedrooms or even in the LED lighting of dining rooms.

How to clean natural lamps properly without damaging them?

Cleaning natural fibre lamps is not complicated, although you should be careful not to use aggressive products that could damage them.

The first tip is that although they can be washed with water, it is always advisable not to get them too wet. Using a damp cloth to clean your wicker, bamboo or rattan lamp is the right thing to do, not running them under running water or spraying them with a hose.

If your natural fibre lamp has a braided shape, we recommend that you clean it frequently to prevent dust or dirt from getting stuck between the holes in the braiding. A good option in this case is to clean them with the help of a hoover to gently remove the layer of dust that is deposited.

If you discover any major stains that are more intense than dust, use water with detergent, water with salt or, at most, water with a few drops of ammonia.

If your natural material luminaire has mould stains you should proceed to kill the fungus using a mixture of hot water and bleach. Once cleaned, you should leave it to dry, preferably in the shade.
