The 24h Consumption Meter and Analyser Kit SAJ SMART METER for zero export with SAJ R5 and R6 Inverters is a necessary accessory to configure zero injection for the SAJ R5 and R6 inverters on our website. We have two models, three-phase and single-phase, with which you can measure the current injected into the grid.
The 24h Consumption Meter and Analyser Kit SAJ SMART METER for zero export with SAJ R5 and R6 Inverters is a digital meter for monitoring electrical consumption 24 hours a day. This analyser can measure household or industrial consumption, constantly adapting the power delivered by the photovoltaic system to the installation’s demand. It is a necessary accessory if we want to configure the self-consumption photovoltaic installation so that it does not inject energy into the grid. The meter is connected as follows: On the upper part of the DDSU meter, connect the inverter output together with the household consumption; the lower part of the meter is connected to the electricity grid coming from the street meter. The DDSU is connected to the SAJ module. The SAJ module connects to the inverter via RJ45. In this way, the meter knows the home’s energy demand. For example, if the home consumes 3 kW and the solar plant is generating 2 kW, the meter would only draw 1 kW from the utility meter. Conversely, if there are surpluses, the meter can export to the grid or perform zero export depending on the configuration we have set.
It is ideal for billing the energy of your home or business and, moreover, allows you to manage production surpluses from “on-grid” self-consumption photovoltaic installations, performing zero injection or controlled injection depending on the needs at any given time. The portal where we will consult these monitoring and management data is the platform called e-Solar, which has been developed by the SAJ brand. The inverter includes an RS485 Modbus RTU communications protocol, and it is via this protocol that the meter informs the inverter whether there is export or not. The meter is mounted on a DIN rail and can measure a multitude of electrical quantities, and also performs bidirectional energy measurement, calculating kWh and kVArh.
To configure the system for zero export:
1. Open the eSolar O&M app and ensure that all devices are connected to it.
2. Access the eSolar SEC interface.
3. Tap the settings icon located in the upper right corner.
4. Go to the configuration option for phase energy export limitation.
5. Set the export limit value to 0% to avoid any energy export.
