What diameter should a round flush ceiling light have?

Yes, provided the model is explicitly specified as dimmable. An LED-compatible dimmer must also be used and its minimum load respected. A non-dimmable flush ceiling light connected to a dimmer may flicker, make noise or operate unstably.
