About Grid Inverter
Mains-connected inverters are used in direct-consumption photovoltaic systems, i.e. those that do not use batteries.
Operation requires that there is a connection to the conventional mains electrical network since these "on grid" inverters use the energy that comes from it when the electricity generated by the solar panels is not sufficient to supply the consumption at any given time.
Like the rest of the inverters, they perform other functions within the installation, such as optimising its performance and monitoring the state of the system. In addition, as it does not use batteries, the photovoltaic system connected to the mains network is significantly cheaper and will pay-off in a shorter period of time.
