What are RoHS and CE certificates?

The RoHS certificate guarantees the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Enforced in 2006, it restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electrical and electronic equipment.

The CE certificate is a key indicator of a product that conforms to EU legislation and which enables the free movement of products within the European market. By labelling a product CE, the manufacturer declares that a product conforms to all legal requirements and ensures the validity of the product to be sold throughout the European Economic Area.
