The 12V GU5.3 MR16 Dimmable LED Bulb PHILIPS SpotVLE 7W 36º 660 lm allows us to replace conventional bulbs, such as those used in downlights, while maintaining our current installation.
With a brightness of 630 lumens, comparable to that of a halogen of about 50W, the savings achieved with this technology are more than remarkable. The beam width of the Dimmable LED GU5.3 7W 660 lm MR16 PHILIPS SpotVLE 36º 12V is ideal for ambient lighting or highlighting elements in the space.
By using a bi-pin connection type GU5.3 and operating at 12V, we do not have to worry about removing transformers or changing the lamp holders. We simply remove the current bulb and install the new Philips bulb.
There are dimmers specifically designed for 12VAC halogen bulbs that allow for intensity control. It is not compatible with a triac dimmer because triac dimmers are designed to work with high voltage alternating current, typically 220-240VAC.
