The PHILIPS 36W 1200mm Disinfection and Sterilization TuV T8 UVC Airborne Steam Tube is a special tube that emits in the wavelength of ultraviolet rays. All its light output is concentrated in the 253 nanometers, known as UV-C band. UV-C short-wave ultraviolet light breaks down and disrupts cellular DNA and consequently has a strong germicidal action that kills or inactivates all types of bacteria, viruses, fungi and other germs. The strip incorporates an electronic ballast, to provide the steam pipe with the voltage peak needed to start. In this way, its installation is very simple, you only have to power the strip to the 220VAC power grid.

Since these tubes have a strong antibacterial action and disturb cellular DNA, a presence detector with a special configuration, designed for Germicidal UVC Tubes, has been included. The product will only turn on when it does not detect presence where it is installed. For example, the tube strip is installed in a waiting room or in a changing room. The moment a person enters the room, the tube will turn off and avoid damaging the person's skin and eyes. When you leave the room, the tube will automatically turn on to kill any bacteria or viruses you may have left. It is necessary to leave the tube on for as long as necessary for it to have germicidal action.

These luminaires are included in the Risk Group 3 so they should always be handled and used with UVC UV protection goggles. Exposure to ultraviolet light causes severe eye and skin damage.
As it is a steam pipe requires an external starter or electronic ballast that is already included in the product.
