About Electrical Textile Cable for Lamps

How to choose the most ideal type of decorative cable for LED lights?

If you are thinking of buying accessories to create your own LED lights, you should pay attention to the type of cable you need to use.

Here are some guidelines to follow when it comes to successfully choosing the right decorative textile cable.

  • Appearance. Textile cables can be coloured and smooth or braided. Among the latter, you can find natural fibres such as hemp.
  • Diameter. The diameter of the light cable indicates its thickness, so the greater the diameter, the greater the thickness. Our decorative cables for lights are 6mm thick.
  • Number of conductors. Classic cables have two conductors, positive and negative. However, our cables have 3, since they include the earth cable.
  • Section or thickness. This refers to the diameter of each conductor. In our case, we offer the most common, 0.75 mm2 per conductor.

To summarise, consider that with a section of 2 x 0.75 mm2 cables, you can install bulbs of up to 700 Watts (W).

To give you an idea LED filament bulbs, dimmable or RGB and CTT bulbs, in general, range between 5 and 25 W.
