Green LED light against headache

Headache is one of the most common ailments today. The most common way to combat it is to use drugs such as ibuprofen, which is increasingly abused, or at least it was until now.

Studies by Dr. Mohab Ibrahim show that using green LED light can significantly mitigate migraines.

The origin of light therapy that eliminates chronic pain

The idea came from the apparently quite frequent headaches of Dr. Mohab’s brother, who said that sitting in the park by the trees made him feel better and without the need for medication. Ibrahim himself had experienced this himself and wondered what might be the cause. At first he thought it might be because the park was a quiet place, but his office also allowed him to be relaxed and, even so, it did not free him from the pain. Later, he thought that perhaps the trees were releasing some kind of chemical agent into the air or that it was simply the green color of their leaves. This is how he began to experience the effects of green light on chronic pain.

Experiments with rats and clinical tests

The initial experiment was conducted with laboratory rats that were divided into three groups. The first was placed in a transparent box that allowed the rats to be immersed in light. The second group was placed in a room with green light and fitted with contact lenses that allowed the wavelength of green light to pass through. The third group was placed in opaque contact lenses and were not exposed to the light at any time.

The result was that the rats, originally suffering from neuropathic pain, bathed with green light exhibited increased tolerance to different thermal and tactile stimuli that previously caused them pain. All this without any side effects being detected.

In people with fibromyalgia, blind clinical tests were carried out to study the effects of green light in mitigating the chronic pain caused by this disease. Participants were required to stare for one to two hours a day at a green LED strip for a period of 10 days. At the end of the test, the pain was reduced by 40% to 50%.

The mystery of the green light that reduces migraines

The reason why green LED light can significantly reduce chronic pain remains hidden. It may be purely psychological, but preliminary data indicate that this type of light may be modifying the levels of certain substances in the body that could reduce pain and even inflammation in the nervous system.

Undoubtedly, Dr. Mohab Ibrahim ‘s discovery would be an economical way of dealing with chronic pain. A problem that affects millions of people of all ages.
